Additionally to our many duties in the St. Thomas Boys Choir and in school we decided to found a vocal ensemble called Ensemble Nobiles which had its first rehearsal on January 11, 2006. All of its members are also singing in the traditional choir for nine years where they got there first musical education which is remarkably excellent regarding the young age of the singers. This education was the foundation to our early success and fast musical progress as an ensemble.

The ensemble cooperated early with important conducters, composers, singers and other ensembles such as Thomaskantor Prof. Georg Christoph Biller, Friedrich Leonhardt, Stephan Gogolka or Chickpeas which can be taken as another prove for the extraordinary seriousness and dedication with which the ensemble members are trying to enhance their performance and repertoire.

We consist of the two tenors Christian Pohlers, Paul Heller, and also three basses Felix Hübner, Lucas Heller and Lukas Lomtscher. Almost all of us come from different parts of Germany and met each other in the choir where we made music together even before the Ensemble was founded. We often represented the choir as an ensemble for smaller events and our members are chosen to sing solo parts in choir concerts.

Musical events that we were a part of consist of anniversaries, weddings, church services, beneficial events, and others in Middle Germany and cities all over Germany, e.g. Frankfurt and Berlin. 2009 A highlight was a concert tour to New Zealand.

The repertoire that consists of music from many different periods seems to be an ideal base for the ensemble’s musical work and enhancement. The ensemble performs pieces from the renaissance period to modern compositions laying its main focus on the romantic period. The repertoire can be used to sing in churches or on secular events. Even compositions from ensemble member are performed. Our many listeners were able to experience how excellent and exceptional our young ensemble performs the difficult program that we are working on every day.
